2001 Score Select Football Hobby Box
- # of Packs: 20
- # of Cards per Pack: 5
- Rookie pulled: 1
- Inserts: 3
- Autographs: 1
Highlights
- 2001 Select Complete Players #CP24 Brett Favre
- 2001 Score Select Rookie Preview Autographs #RP60 Will Allen
- 2001 Score Select Future Franchise #FF29 Emmitt Smith, Quincy Carter
It wasn’t time yet. I thought these might be fun to open as sort of a vintage break, but the box lacked punch. It was fun to see a Troy Aikman, John Elway, and Randall Cunningham. But the Emmitt Smith pulled was on the reverse side of a … ugh… Quincy Carter card. All of the inserts were numbered, but there were only 3. I might buy this on the low end of the estimated price, but not much more.

2009/2010 Panini Basketball Blaster Box
Estimated Price: $12-$20
- # of Packs: 6
- # of Cards per Pack: 12
- Rookie pulled: 8
- Inserts: 7
- Parallels: 1+
Highlights
- 2009/2010 Panini Glossy A.J. Price # 346
- 2009/2010 Panini Legends of the Game Jerry West # 1
- 2009/2010 Panini Darren Collison # 371
- 2009/2010 Panini Decals Carmelo Anthony
Conclusion
Panini / Donruss’s main brand seems to be decent so far. The number of inserts and rookies was pleasing, however, the material of the cards seemed a bit cheap. It seemed like a slightly newer version of the late 90 Fleer cards that seemed to be made from recycled materials. The stickers in Panini are fun, but I’d like to see them not counted as one of the cards in the pack. I also had trouble finding which cards were the familiar Glossy parallel.

This box was on sale, and after opening it I can see why. No inserts, no rookies, no parallels, no hits, period. I got my first Gil Meche card, that was the highlight of the box!

Conclusion
My girl and I bought two of these boxes on sale. We did not get a hit like we did with the LT card in the other box, but we did get a serial numbered rookie. For the price, this box was pretty good. The parallel could have been better, but that’s just a luck of the draw.

Retail boxes are not usually the way to find great pulls, but at good prices, they can provide great enjoyment. I enjoy shopping at Wally World with my girlfriend just to look for the good deals in the sports cards isle. Don’t be too scared away though, we’ll be cracking real hobby boxes together before you know it.
2008 – 09 Topps Treasury Basketball is a solid brand with a nice heavy card, professional design with nice looking rookies. A knock on the product would have to be too much empty space on the front of the card.

Conclusion
For a retail box, this was a decent buy considering 5 rookies being pulled. But with no hit card and no inserts, the box leaves a little to be desired. This would be a great buy at $10 or less.
